The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Bank Windhoek are actively strengthening their long-standing partnership, with a renewed focus on enhancing cybersecurity resilience and promoting financial wellness. This collaboration reflects a growing recognition that both digital security and financial education are critical pillars for sustainable institutional growth.

To begin with, both organizations are exploring practical ways to exchange value by leveraging their unique strengths. While NBC brings extensive expertise in content creation and nationwide distribution, Bank Windhoek contributes deep knowledge in financial services and security frameworks. As a result, the partnership aims to create a well-rounded approach that benefits not only the institutions themselves but also the broader public.

Moreover, NBC’s Director General, Menesia Muinjo, highlighted the importance of building internal cybersecurity capacity alongside public awareness campaigns. She stressed that simply sharing information is no longer sufficient; organizations must also be prepared to respond effectively to cyber incidents.

“How organisations become vulnerable, and the investment they are making, and the risk to destroy such investment. So now that I found you here, I’m wondering how Bank Windhoek does it, and apart from probably the content and message distribution, maybe there is an opportunity to exchange with your team and others, because that’s really a focus area.

“Also, because it doesn’t help to invest in and to distribute the message, and then tomorrow you have to start from the ground,” she said.

In addition, Muinjo emphasized the importance of continuous learning and collaboration. She suggested that sharing expertise between institutions could significantly improve resilience against evolving cyber threats.

On the other hand, Bank Windhoek’s Communications Manager, Jacquiline Pack, pointed out that the bank is already implementing workplace banking initiatives designed to enhance employees’ financial well-being. These initiatives include customized advisory services, structured savings plans, and employer-supported financial education programs.

Furthermore, she proposed extending similar services to NBC staff. This would involve onboarding sessions, easy access to financial tools through digital links, and interactive workshops led by financial experts.

” And sign up for whatever the links are and then we do a financial wellness presentation to them as well, so that is something that we can also do for you. We have an expert specialist, he is very good, and perhaps it’s just a matter of making him aware of his needs, and then he can come and get the presentation, and then he can just understand more about it as well.

Importantly, this collaboration is part of a broader N$1.6 million partnership between the two organizations. Through this initiative, NBC’s national reach and Bank Windhoek’s expertise in finance and security will work together to raise public awareness about digital safety and financial literacy.

Ultimately, this strengthened alliance signals a forward-thinking approach where cybersecurity and financial wellness go hand in hand, ensuring both institutional resilience and community empowerment.
