Zscaler, Inc., a leader in cloud security, today appointed Casper Klynge as Vice President and Head of EMEA Government Partnerships.
In this new role, the former ambassador and tech executive will lead public policy efforts. He will build strategic relationships with governments and international bodies. He will also establish senior-level connections across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His focus will be on cybersecurity risk mitigation. This includes ensuring compliance with European and national data privacy rules for countries, organizations, and critical infrastructure operators. Klynge supports strategic goals of being autonomously driven.
“I am thrilled to work directly with Casper after having the privilege of collaborating for years while he served as Denmark’s Cyber and Tech Ambassador, and in his various industry leadership roles”
At a flush of digital and cloud transformations by the state and other institutions in Europe, data privacy, protection, and regulatory compliance find a prime consideration. With its global, cloud-based, AI-enhanced Zero Trust security, Zscaler already provides a platform for organizations around the world to embrace secure multi-cloud adoption, enable remote work, and safely move applications in OT to digital environments. This capability will now be further expanded to cover the requirements of the public sector. Indeed, mindful of the fact that data sovereignty must walk hand in hand with cybersecurity, the new role within Zscaler will focus on strategic partnerships with governments across EMEA—promoting both the benefits of this Zero Trust approach and support for overcoming regulatory concerns.

“I’m looking forward to finally working with Casper directly after years of working together in his role as Denmark’s Cyber and Tech Ambassador, as well as in various industry leadership capacities,” said Ryan Gillis, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Government Partnerships at Zscaler. “The addition of a European leader of the stature of Casper encapsulates the further deepening of Zscaler’s strategic engagements with governments and regional organizations at a really very critical time in history for cybersecurity and public policy.”
Klynge said in a statement he was excited to join Zscaler at such a critical time in cybersecurity challenges and data protection concerns, which are now being amplified by AI to the point that they are becoming imperative for the private and public sector. He underscored that, geopolitically speaking, the ability to leverage such technology is an important matter for digital resilience. “It is the foundation for building the trust necessary for digital transformation, which is required for productivity, economic growth, and job creation in the digital decade ahead,” Klynge said. “I look forward to driving forward digital sovereignty in line with cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy requirements, and sovereign cloud solutions for our partners across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.”
