Babel Street has announced it will provide complimentary, tailored threat intelligence briefings to security leaders at technology companies recently named in a warning issued by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The move follows a significant escalation in geopolitical tensions, after the IRGC publicly identified 18 major U.S. technology firms operating in the Middle East as potential targets. Companies reportedly named include Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla, and Google.
The warning, issued on March 31, signals heightened risk for Western technology companies with operations, personnel, or infrastructure in the region. According to reports, some affected organizations have already begun closing offices and relocating employees as a precaution.
Babel Street CEO Benji Hutchinson described the situation as a coordinated threat that extends beyond corporate systems to include leadership teams, engineering staff, and physical infrastructure. He emphasized that many organizations may be underestimating the breadth of the risk.
In response, Babel Street is offering immediate, no-cost intelligence briefings to impacted companies. These sessions are designed to provide security leaders with real-time insights into evolving IRGC-linked activity, including emerging patterns, localized threats, and region-specific risks.
The company’s platform leverages AI to monitor a wide range of sources, including non-English communications often overlooked by traditional intelligence tools. This capability enables organizations to gain a more comprehensive understanding of threat activity as it develops.
Babel Street highlighted that much of the IRGC’s activity occurs outside English-language channels, creating blind spots for organizations relying solely on conventional intelligence sources. By analyzing multilingual and hard-to-access data streams, the company aims to help organizations identify risks earlier and respond more effectively.
Security experts are urging organizations named in the IRGC warning to treat the situation as an active and evolving threat. With risks spanning cyber, physical, and operational domains, companies are advised to reassess their security posture, enhance monitoring capabilities, and ensure rapid response mechanisms are in place. The initiative by Babel Street reflects a growing need for real-time, intelligence-driven security strategies as geopolitical tensions increasingly impact private sector organizations.
