As cyber threats increasingly target industrial and critical infrastructure, cybersecurity firms are strengthening regional leadership to support operational technology security in key global markets.

Dragos Inc. has appointed Kaori Nieda as its first Country Manager for Japan, marking a significant step in the company’s regional expansion strategy. The Dragos Japan expansion appointment reflects growing demand for advanced OT cybersecurity solutions as industrial systems become more connected and exposed to evolving threats.

Based in Hanover, Maryland, Dragos has been building its presence in Japan through its partnership with Macnica. The appointment of Kaori Nieda strengthens this foundation and signals the company’s commitment to supporting Japanese organizations operating critical infrastructure and cyber physical systems.

In her new role, Nieda will lead efforts to expand Dragos’s capabilities across the Japanese market, focusing on accelerating growth, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering specialized cybersecurity expertise. Her leadership will play a key role in helping industrial organizations enhance resilience against increasingly sophisticated OT focused cyberattacks.

Nieda brings more than two decades of experience in cybersecurity, with expertise spanning threat intelligence, extended detection and response, network security, and SaaS based platforms. She has a strong track record of scaling global security businesses in Japan, working with enterprise, public sector, and service provider clients. Her experience also includes building high performing teams and executing go to market strategies tailored to the local market.

Prior to joining Dragos, Nieda served as Country Manager at Amplitude Analytics GK, where she led a major organizational transformation. During her tenure, she doubled fiscal year performance, secured strategic customers, and restructured the company’s go to market approach, positioning it for sustained growth in Japan.

“I am excited to join Dragos at such a critical moment for the company’s growth. Industrial and critical infrastructure organizations in Japan face an increasingly complex threat landscape, and Dragos’s mission and capabilities are exactly what the market needs. I look forward to collaborating with customers and partners to strengthen OT cyber resilience throughout Japan.”

The appointment comes as Dragos continues to invest in regional innovation and partnerships aimed at supporting industrial cybersecurity. The company is focusing on helping organizations secure operational environments that underpin essential services, including energy, manufacturing, and transportation.

Hayley Turner, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Dragos, emphasized the importance of the Japanese market to the company’s long term growth strategy.

“Japan is a critical and fast-growing market for Dragos. Industrial and critical infrastructure organizations are at the center of security and resilience in this region. Expanding our presence in Japan is a top priority, and we are thrilled to welcome Kaori Nieda to lead our next growth phase. Her deep cybersecurity expertise and proven leadership make her an exceptional addition to the Dragos team.”

The Dragos Japan expansion appointment highlights a broader industry trend of strengthening localized cybersecurity capabilities to address region specific risks. As industrial environments become more digitized, leadership investments like this are expected to play a crucial role in safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring long term operational resilience.
