Huskeys has officially stepped out of stealth mode, announcing an $8 million seed funding round alongside the launch of what it calls the industry’s first Edge Security Management (ESM) platform. The company is taking aim at a long-standing issue in cybersecurity legacy web application firewalls (WAFs) that struggle to keep up with modern, fast-evolving digital environments.
Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Huskeys is positioning itself as a game-changer for organizations that rely heavily on web traffic. Traditional WAF systems, some built on decades-old technology, often force security teams into a difficult trade-off: block too aggressively and risk losing customers, or loosen controls and expose systems to threats. According to CEO and co-founder Itai Gafni, this “doomsday choice” has left many teams hesitant to even adjust their security configurations.
The company’s new platform introduces an agentic AI layer that sits on top of existing infrastructure rather than replacing it. This plug-and-play approach allows businesses to integrate the solution quickly across multiple cloud and WAF environments. By acting as a centralized intelligence layer, the platform unifies traffic flow across CDN, WAF, infrastructure, and applicationsbringing much-needed context and automation into security operations.
At its core, Huskeys’ technology uses AI to analyze traffic behavior, business logic, and risk in real time. It continuously adjusts rules and policies, helping organizations strike a balance between strong security and seamless user experience. The goal is not just protection, but performance—turning security systems into drivers of business growth rather than obstacles.
The platform has already gained traction among major global brands, including TikTok, Merlin Entertainments, and Hugging Face. In one early use case, Huskeys identified overly strict WAF rules that were blocking legitimate e-commerce transactions. By fine-tuning those rules, the company helped restore millions in lost revenue within hours demonstrating the tangible business impact of smarter security.
Founded in 2025 by Itai Gafni and CTO Roy Weisfeld, both alumni of Israel’s elite Unit 8200, the company was born out of firsthand frustration. The founders observed that despite rapid innovation in cybersecurity tools, web application protection remained fragmented and ineffective. Weisfeld noted that during their research, bypassing existing WAF solutions was surprisingly easy, highlighting a critical gap in the industry.
The funding round attracted a mix of venture capital firms and notable angel investors, including cybersecurity leaders and even professional athletes like Mario Götze, Kelvin Beachum, and Larry Fitzgerald. Their involvement reflects not only financial backing but also a push toward global brand recognition.
With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated and web ecosystems increasingly complex, Huskeys is betting that intelligent automation is the future of application security. By transforming outdated WAF systems into adaptive, AI-driven assets, the company aims to redefine how enterprises approach both security and revenue protection.
