ESET has announced that its ESET PROTECT cybersecurity platform has achieved Intel vPro Certified App status, marking a significant milestone in its collaboration with Intel. The certification confirms that ESET’s solution meets strict performance and efficiency standards required for Intel vPro platforms, ensuring strong security without compromising system performance.

The certification highlights improvements in key areas such as reduced CPU usage, enhanced battery life, and optimized background operations. According to ESET, its solution has been fine-tuned to deliver an reduction in background activity, a 72% decrease in CPU utilization, and a 66% improvement in power efficiency on Intel vPro-enabled devices. These enhancements are particularly valuable for enterprise users who require robust protection without impacting productivity.

ESET’s collaboration with Intel dates back to 2022, when the companies began working together to integrate advanced ransomware detection capabilities using Intel Threat Detection Technology (TDT). By leveraging Intel’s hardware-level capabilities, ESET has been able to offload certain security processes from software to the processor, improving both performance and detection accuracy.

As part of its ongoing innovation, ESET is now evaluating Intel’s latest advancement, Threat Detection Technology Deep Learning & Trace-based Execution Context Tracker (TDT-DTECT). This new approach uses AI to analyze real-time execution of machine code directly at the CPU level, rather than relying solely on traditional methods such as file scanning or behavioral analysis.

This shift toward processor-level detection enables security teams to identify threats that are often difficult to detect using conventional tools. These include polymorphic malware that constantly changes its code, fileless attacks that operate entirely in memory, and sophisticated loader techniques designed to blend into legitimate processes By monitoring how code executes rather than just how it appears, TDT-DTECT provides deeper visibility into early-stage attack behaviors. This allows organizations to detect malicious activity sooner, differentiate between legitimate and harmful use of applications, and respond more effectively to emerging threats.

Intel emphasized that this approach represents a new direction in cybersecurity, where AI-driven analysis is embedded directly into hardware. For ESET customers, this translates into improved threat detection, stronger protection against advanced malware, and better overall system performance With this certification and continued collaboration, ESET is reinforcing its focus on delivering high-performance security solutions that align with modern enterprise needs combining efficiency, advanced threat detection, and seamless integration with next-generation hardware technologies.
