DigiCert has announced new enhancements to its Document Trust Manager solution, aimed at helping organizations tackle the growing threat of document fraud while simplifying compliance and strengthening trust in digital transactions. The update comes as the rapid rise of generative AI and digital transformation increases both the volume of digital documents and the sophistication of fraud techniques.
Enterprises are facing a surge in risks such as manipulated documents, fraudulent invoices, and identity misuse. At the same time, the adoption of eSignatures has grown significantly in recent years, making secure and verifiable document workflows more critical than ever. DigiCert’s latest updates are designed to address these challenges by centralizing and strengthening document signing processes.
The enhanced Document Trust Manager consolidates signing workflows and key management into a single platform, eliminating the need for fragmented systems across regions or departments. This unified approach allows organizations to manage compliance with global standards such as eIDAS and AATL while maintaining consistent security controls across the enterprise. One of the key improvements is centralized visibility into signing activity. Organizations can now monitor who signed specific documents, when the actions occurred, and identify any suspicious or unauthorized activity through a single interface. This level of oversight is particularly important in regulated industries where auditability is essential.
The platform also introduces a secure repository for certificates and private keys, removing reliance on physical storage devices like USB tokens. Combined with multi-factor authentication, this approach reduces the risk of credential theft or misuse while aligning with modern security best practices. To ensure seamless adoption, DigiCert has integrated the solution with widely used tools such as DocuSign, Adobe Sign, and Adobe Acrobat. This allows organizations to enhance security without disrupting existing workflows. Additionally, new capabilities such as online countersigning enable more flexible and efficient signing processes within the same platform.
DigiCert’s solution is built on public key infrastructure (PKI), providing cryptographic assurance of document integrity and signer identity. This ensures that documents cannot be altered after signing and that the identity of the signer can be verified with a high degree of confidence, including support for biometric and identity-based authentication methods. The enhancements are particularly relevant for organizations operating in highly regulated environments, especially across regions like EMEA, where evolving digital identity regulations are increasing compliance requirements. By centralizing signing controls and providing auditable records, Document Trust Manager helps enterprises meet these demands while supporting secure remote and hybrid work environments.
Industry analysts note that as AI makes document fraud more scalable and harder to detect, organizations must move beyond visual trust and adopt cryptographic verification methods With these updates, DigiCert is positioning its platform as a comprehensive solution for ensuring document authenticity, compliance, and trust in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world.
