Siemens Smart Infrastructure has announced a strategic agreement with Viakoo to deliver the Viakoo Action Platform™, expanding its capabilities in securing enterprise OT and IoT environments. The collaboration introduces an automated, scalable solution designed to help organizations manage, analyze, and protect their rapidly growing fleets of connected devices while ensuring continuous compliance and cyber hygiene.

As enterprises increasingly rely on Internet of Things (IoT) and Operational Technology (OT) devices to power critical operations, the attack surface for cyber threats has expanded significantly. Industry estimates suggest that organizations now manage between five and ten connected devices per employee, many of which lack the robust security controls typically applied to traditional IT systems. This gap has made OT and IoT infrastructures prime targets for ransomware attacks, data breaches, and system disruptions.

Through this partnership, Siemens will integrate Viakoo’s cloud-based Action Platform into its service portfolio, enabling customers to secure their connected environments with the same rigor applied to IT assets. The platform provides automated device management, proactive vulnerability detection, and real-time compliance monitoring across physical security systems and OT/IoT networks.

Key capabilities include automated firmware updates, certificate lifecycle management, such as 802.1x authentication, password policy enforcement, and continuous operational alerts. The platform’s vendor-agnostic and agentless architecture simplifies deployment across multi-vendor ecosystems, allowing organizations to manage diverse device fleets without adding complexity or manual workload.

Rich Reidy, U.S. Security Segment Head of the Buildings business at Siemens Smart Infrastructure USA, emphasized the importance of securing connected infrastructure in today’s digital landscape. He noted that the collaboration with Viakoo strengthens Siemens’ commitment to delivering advanced security services through its ecosystem, helping customers achieve stronger compliance and operational resilience.

The solution is particularly beneficial for enterprises managing large-scale, distributed device networks, as well as organizations operating in highly regulated industries where compliance and audit readiness are critical. By automating routine security tasks and providing continuous visibility into device status, the platform helps reduce operational risk while improving adherence to service-level agreements.

Bud Broomhead, CEO and Founder of Viakoo, highlighted the broader impact of the partnership, stating that it enables more organizations to automate critical cybersecurity processes and protect their connected environments without compromising efficiency. The integration of Viakoo’s technology into Siemens’ offerings also supports recurring service models and enhances long-term customer engagement.

As cyber threats targeting OT and IoT ecosystems continue to evolve, organizations are shifting toward proactive, automated security strategies that combine visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency. Siemens’ collaboration with Viakoo reflects this shift, providing enterprises with a comprehensive solution to safeguard connected devices while unlocking their full business value.
