Broadcom Inc.  has announced the launch of Symantec CBX (Carbon Black XDR), a cloud-based cybersecurity platform that brings together the strengths of Symantec and Carbon Black into a single, streamlined solution. The platform is designed to support organizations that face advanced cyber threats but lack the resources, expertise, or infrastructure required for complex security deployments. As cyberattacks grow more sophisticated, even smaller and mid-sized organizations are increasingly targeted by advanced persistent threats and nation-state actors. However, many of these organizations struggle with limited budgets, staffing shortages, and fragmented security tools, making it difficult to defend against modern threats effectively.

Symantec CBX addresses these challenges by combining prevention, detection, and response capabilities into one integrated platform. It incorporates Symantec’s technologies such as Adaptive Protection, data security, secure web gateway (SWG), and incident prediction, alongside Carbon Black’s endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities. Together, these features provide deep visibility, accurate threat detection, and faster incident response across endpoints, networks, and data environments.

The platform’s ability to correlate signals from multiple attack surfaces allows security teams to move beyond isolated alerts and gain a unified view of threats. This enables faster, more confident decision-making and reduces the complexity typically associated with managing multiple security solutions.

Industry leaders highlight the importance of making advanced security more accessible. Feris Rifai, President of Leap (a TD SYNNEX subsidiary), noted that combining expertise with platforms like CBX helps deliver enterprise-grade protection in a more practical and approachable way. By unifying security functions, organizations can strengthen their defenses without increasing operational burden.

Jason Rolleston, Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom’s Enterprise Security Group, emphasized that CBX represents a significant step forward in simplifying cybersecurity. By merging the capabilities of Symantec and Carbon Black, the platform provides intelligent automation and real-time insights, enabling organizations of all sizes to respond to modern threats more efficiently.

Enterprise-grade protection is now accessible to organizations without complex setups or large security teams, offering advanced capabilities like secure web gateway filtering, sensitive data monitoring, and threat prevention. With AI-driven correlation, the platform connects signals across endpoints, networks, cloud, identity, and data to turn low-level alerts into high-confidence incidents, enabling faster investigation and response. A unified interface provides complete visibility into attacker activity, helping analysts track how threats enter, move, and impact systems. It also defends against Living-Off-the-Land (LOTL) attacks through Adaptive Protection that detects misuse of legitimate tools.

Additionally, AI-powered prediction and guidance anticipate attacker behavior while an integrated assistant supports investigation, classification, and remediation. These capabilities enhance team skills by delivering clear incident summaries and actionable recommendations, empowering even less-experienced analysts to respond effectively.
