SecurityBridge has promoted Holger Hügel to Chief Technology Officer, marking an important leadership move for the company as it continues to expand its SAP cybersecurity platform. With this appointment, Hügel steps into a broader role after previously serving as director of product management. Now, he will lead the technological development of the company’s SAP security platform while also driving its strategic innovation efforts.
This leadership change comes shortly after Jesper Zerlang moved into the CEO role earlier this year. At the same time, company founders Christoph Nagy and Ivan Mans, who previously served as CEO and CTO, are stepping back from day-to-day executive leadership. However, they will remain closely involved in guiding the company’s long-term strategic direction. As a result, SecurityBridge is reinforcing its leadership structure while maintaining continuity in its vision and product strategy.
Hügel brings more than 25 years of experience in SAP and IT operations to the CTO role. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for connecting business needs with complex technology environments. Because of this deep expertise, SecurityBridge sees him as well-positioned to lead the next stage of innovation for its SAP-focused cybersecurity platform.
Since joining SecurityBridge in 2023, Hügel has played a key role in enhancing the company’s SAP security platform. In particular, he has helped expand the platform’s capabilities so enterprises can better protect critical SAP systems from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Therefore, his promotion reflects both his contribution to the business so far and the company’s confidence in his ability to guide future technology development.
SecurityBridge emphasized that Hügel’s experience goes far beyond product leadership. Before joining the company, he held leadership positions at SECUDE, SmartShift, and Realtech. In those roles, he focused on SAP S/4HANA environments, SAP ERP, business development, and strategic partnerships. Consequently, he brings a broad mix of technical insight, product strategy, and market understanding to his new executive position.
“I’m excited to continue advancing the SAP security vision established by the company’s founders,” Hügel said. “There is significant innovation potential ahead for the platform, and I look forward to working with our team to further strengthen how organizations secure their SAP environments.”
His appointment also signals SecurityBridge’s continued focus on innovation in SAP cybersecurity. As businesses face evolving cyber risks, protecting SAP environments has become increasingly important for organizations that rely on those systems for core operations. By elevating a leader with deep SAP knowledge and hands-on platform experience, the company is positioning itself to respond more effectively to customer demands and market challenges.
SecurityBridge co-founder Christoph Nagy also highlighted why Hügel stood out as the right fit for the CTO role. According to Nagy, Hügel’s deep expertise in SAP security and his detailed understanding of the company’s technology made the decision a natural one. Moreover, his appointment allows the founders to shift more of their attention toward long-term innovation and product vision without losing momentum in day-to-day platform development.
“Holger has extensive expertise in SAP security and a strong understanding of our platform,” Nagy said. “With him leading technology development as CTO, the founders can focus more on supporting long-term innovation and product vision.”
Overall, this promotion reflects more than a leadership title change. It represents SecurityBridge’s effort to strengthen its executive team, deepen its technical leadership, and continue advancing its mission as a cybersecurity command center for SAP. With Hügel now overseeing technology strategy, the company appears ready to push forward with greater focus on platform innovation, enterprise protection, and long-term growth in the SAP security market.
