UiPath , a global leader in agentic automation, has introduced a new security automation capability developed in partnership with Microsoft. The solution is designed to help organizations streamline and accelerate security operations by integrating automation directly into business workflows. The joint offering connects UiPath’s automation platform with Microsoft’s security ecosystem, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft threat intelligence. By combining these technologies, the solution automates key processes such as threat detection, data enrichment, and incident response, while incorporating business context into security operations.

This integration enables security operations centers (SOCs) to respond more effectively to threats without disrupting core business processes. By improving efficiency and reducing manual effort, organizations can lower their mean time to resolve (MTTR) and minimize operational impact during security incidents. The solution is built for enterprise-scale environments and aligns with Microsoft’s broader security framework. It will be available through the UiPath Solutions Marketplace, allowing organizations to easily deploy and integrate the capability into their existing Microsoft security investments.

Andrei Oros, Director of IT Automation at UiPath, emphasized that the collaboration brings security closer to everyday business operations. By embedding security controls directly into workflows, organizations can adopt automation with greater confidence, ensuring that critical data remains protected without affecting productivity. From Microsoft’s perspective, the integration enhances security visibility and decision-making. Ruthy Kaidar, Managing Director of Solutions for Software Companies at Microsoft EMEA, noted that combining automation with built-in governance enriches threat signals with business context and supports faster, more informed responses.

The new capability automates the flow of security data across platforms:

  • Files and signals generated within automated workflows are automatically scanned using Microsoft Defender for Cloud

  • These signals are enriched with contextual business data to improve threat understanding

  • The information is then sent to Microsoft Sentinel for deeper investigation

  • Security analysts can leverage Microsoft Security Copilot for guided analysis with human oversight

  • UiPath automation executes response actions such as isolating files, pausing workflows, or escalating incidents

This coordinated approach enables faster detection and response while maintaining a balance between automation and human decision-making.

Steven Spirou, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft Security, highlighted that modern security teams require solutions capable of keeping pace with rapidly evolving threats. He noted that UiPath’s integration with Microsoft Sentinel and Security Copilot demonstrates how automation and contextual intelligence can deliver tangible value in real-world SOC environments By integrating automation with advanced security tools, the solution allows organizations to move toward more proactive and efficient threat management. It reduces the burden on analysts, accelerates response times, and helps maintain continuous protection without interrupting business workflows. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the collaboration between UiPath and Microsoft reflects a growing trend toward embedding security directly into operational processes ensuring that protection scales alongside automation.
