As organizations increasingly rely on video surveillance to manage security and operations, the ability to extract actionable insights from vast amounts of footage has become a growing priority. Luminys’ latest announcement introduces new capabilities designed to enhance AI powered video security by combining cloud, edge, and intelligent analytics technologies.

Luminys Systems Corporation has unveiled LumiAgent, an AI driven video search capability, alongside a broader expansion of its video security and infrastructure portfolio ahead of ISC West 2026. The updates span cloud services, cameras, network video recorders, and access control systems, reinforcing the company’s focus on delivering scalable and integrated security ecosystems.

At the center of the announcement is LumiAgent, which is designed to transform how users interact with recorded video. By leveraging Vision Language Models and large language models, the system enables natural language queries to search video footage. Users can describe specific scenarios, such as identifying individuals or activities at a particular time and location, and receive relevant results within seconds. This significantly reduces the time required for investigations and improves operational efficiency.

Freddy Kuo, Chairman of Luminys Systems Corporation and Special Assistant to the President of Foxlink, highlighted the shift toward intelligent video systems. “For decades, video systems have generated enormous amounts of data with limited intelligence layered on top,” said Freddy Kuo, Chairman of Luminys Systems Corporation and Special Assistant to the President of Foxlink. “LumiAgent represents a fundamental shift. We’re combining AI, cloud, and edge technology to turn video into a proactive decision-making tool, empowering organizations to operate smarter, faster, and more efficiently.”

In addition to search capabilities, LumiAgent can generate automated summaries of recorded footage and analyze patterns such as customer queues and transactions. These features extend the platform’s use beyond security, enabling organizations to optimize operations and improve customer experience.

The announcement also includes enhancements to LumiCloud, Luminys’ video surveillance as a service platform. LumiCloud enables centralized management of video data across multiple locations, offering features such as real time alerts, event detection, and cloud based storage. New LumiCloud cameras support direct to cloud connectivity, eliminating the need for traditional on site recording hardware and simplifying deployment.

The expanded ecosystem integrates cameras, network video recorders, access control systems, and networking equipment under a unified platform. This approach allows organizations to manage security infrastructure more efficiently while maintaining visibility across distributed environments.

Luminys also introduced new hardware solutions designed for remote and infrastructure limited locations. The LumiWatch Solar system, for example, provides off grid surveillance capabilities using a photovoltaic panel and rechargeable battery, ensuring continuous operation in challenging environments.

At ISC West 2026, the company will showcase its full portfolio, including the LumiAgent platform and additional innovations such as a quadruped robot designed for mobile monitoring and inspection. The robot features enhanced mobility, extended battery life, and support for local deployment, enabling organizations to monitor complex environments without relying on external infrastructure.

The introduction of LumiAgent and the broader expansion of Luminys’ ecosystem reflect a growing trend toward intelligent, AI driven video security solutions. As organizations seek to manage increasing volumes of data while improving response times and operational efficiency, platforms that integrate AI, cloud, and edge technologies are expected to play a central role in the future of security operations.
