Medical device manufacturer Stryker has reported significant operational disruptions following a cyberattack that affected its computer systems. The incident, which the company disclosed earlier this week, has impacted several core business functions, including order processing, product manufacturing, and shipments to customers.
According to the company, the disruption began , when Stryker experienced a global issue within its Microsoft-based IT environment. The cyber incident has temporarily limited the organization’s ability to manage certain internal systems, creating delays across parts of its supply chain and production processes.

Despite the operational challenges, Stryker stated that its patient-related services and connected medical devices remain unaffected. The company emphasized that systems supporting patient care and medical technologies continue to operate normally, ensuring that hospitals and healthcare providers can still use its products without interruption.
An Iranian-linked hacking group known as Handala has claimed responsibility for the attack. The group stated that the cyber operation was carried out in response to a reported strike on a girls’ school in Minab, a city located in southern Iran. The attack on the school allegedly occurred during the first day of U.S.-Israeli military actions targeting Iran.
Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, reportedly stated that the strike resulted in the deaths of approximately 150 students. However, independent verification of this claim has not yet been confirmed.

Stryker has not publicly confirmed whether the group’s claim is accurate or whether the cyberattack can be definitively linked to the organization. The company said it is continuing to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause, scope, and potential consequences.
Headquartered in the United States, Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies. The organization employs around 56,000 people and operates in more than 60 countries, supplying a wide range of medical devices and equipment to hospitals and healthcare providers globally.
At this stage, the full financial and operational impact of the cyberattack remains unclear. Stryker stated that its cybersecurity and IT teams are actively working to restore affected systems and minimize disruptions to business operations. The company added that it will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide updates as the investigation progresses and systems are fully restored.
