Trend Micro Incorporated, through its enterprise AI security platform TrendAI, has introduced a new licensing model aimed at simplifying procurement processes, reducing unnecessary spending, and enabling organizations to scale their security operations more efficiently. With this move, the company directly addresses the growing demand for adaptable cybersecurity investments in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
As cyber risks evolve and IT environments become more dynamic, businesses are looking for greater flexibility in how they manage security licenses. In response, TrendAI has launched the TrendAI Flex model, designed to provide a streamlined and usage-based approach to enterprise security licensing.

Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer at TrendAI, emphasized the importance of adaptability in today’s environment. She said: “Today’s dynamic business and threat landscapes demand a more flexible approach to license management. Our customers want the flexibility to adjust their security investments dynamically without being locked into specific solutions. TrendAI Flex provides one license to easily manage them all delivering the agility teams need to adapt to fast-changing conditions.”
Key Benefits of TrendAI Flex
First and foremost, the new licensing structure allows organizations to align credits directly with actual usage. This flexible licensing model enables enterprises to redistribute protections as their environments change whether shifting coverage from legacy virtual machines to cloud workloads, supporting hybrid workforces, or integrating assets following mergers and acquisitions.
In addition, organizations can respond more quickly to emerging threats. Security teams can activate emergency protections immediately without waiting for traditional procurement approvals. As a result, businesses strengthen their ability to contain vulnerabilities before they escalate.
Financial optimization also plays a central role in the new model. By eliminating stranded licenses and reducing over-provisioning, companies can maintain predictable budgeting while keeping contracts aligned with existing subscription terms.
Furthermore, TrendAI Flex improves IT control and visibility. Administrators gain centralized insights into active solutions, enabled credits, and usage trends over time, allowing for smarter renewal planning and more informed decision-making.
Mohamed Elnobi, Cloud Cybersecurity Tech Lead at Vodafone, highlighted the operational advantages of the platform, stating: “TrendAI Vision OneTM’s greatest assets are its cloud-based platform and credit-based purchasing system, which eliminate the need for traditional licensing and procurement processes, enabling quick product acquisition within one or two days.”

How the Model Works
Customers purchase TrendAI Flex licenses to access TrendAI Vision One, the company’s AI-powered cybersecurity platform. The platform integrates capabilities such as Cyber Risk Exposure Management, Security Operations, Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, Network Security, Email and Collaboration Security, Identity Security, AI Application Security, and Data Security.
Once organizations secure the license, they can deploy individual solutions quickly using a single license key. At the same time, they gain real-time visibility into activated solutions and credit allocations across the environment.
Effective January 5, 2026, TrendAI also introduced a new “TrendAI Flex License / Platform Usage and Credits” app within the TrendAI Vision One console. This update provides administrators with a simplified, centralized dashboard to monitor license entitlements and credit usage across platforms.
Ultimately, with TrendAI Flex, TrendAI positions itself to help enterprises modernize AI security procurement while maintaining agility, financial discipline, and operational resilience.
