Illinois Institute of Technology is launching three new online graduate programs in cybersecurity, focused on preparing learners for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world. As part of its continued partnership with education technology company Risepoint, these new programs are designed to equip professionals with the advanced expertise needed to secure industries, communities, and critical infrastructure.

The new online cybersecurity programs complement the innovative online graduate programs Illinois Tech launched earlier this year, expanding the university’s portfolio of flexible, career-focused degrees. The new offerings include:

  • Master of Applied Science in Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Management
  • Master of Applied Science in Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Technology
  • Master of Applied Science in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering

In Illinois, employers posted more than 19,000 openings for cybersecurity roles in 2025, according to CyberSeek. This demand highlights the urgent need for programs that not only prepare students for in-demand careers but also ensure their education delivers measurable outcomes for employers and the communities they serve.

“These degrees reflect Illinois Tech’s commitment to connecting education with opportunity,” said Mallik Sundharam, Illinois Tech Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. “Our students will gain the technical expertise and applied experience that employers demand, and they will graduate ready to make an immediate impact in their careers.”

Designed for working learners balancing career, family, and other life commitments, the programs provide the flexibility of 100 percent online study without compromising the rigor and focus that define an Illinois Tech education.

Fernando Bleichmar, CEO of Risepoint, said, “Illinois Tech is shaping programs that directly address workforce needs in critical fields, like cybersecurity. These new degrees are a strong example of how the university is preparing professionals to step into high-demand roles with skills that matter on day one. We are proud to support Illinois Tech and to continue our partnership in delivering programs that have a meaningful and lasting impact.”
