Cyberhaven is set to host its inaugural Data Defense Forum on September 24, 2025, bringing together top cybersecurity leaders and innovators to tackle one of most critical business challenges: protecting organizational data in the era of artificial intelligence.

The rapid rise of AI in the workplace is transforming how employees collaborate, create, and execute tasks. However, this swift adoption comes with significant risks. According to the latest findings from Cyberhaven Labs, nearly 75% of AI applications currently in use carry high or critical risk levels. Shockingly, only 16% of enterprise data sent to AI tools ends up in secure, enterprise-ready platforms, while the remaining majority flows into personal or unverified applications.

AI is no longer the exclusive domain of technology firms. Industries including retail, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing are increasingly embedding AI into critical business processes. Cyberhaven’s research shows that over a third of the data employees have shared with AI tools in the past year is sensitive, ranging from customer information to proprietary business insights. This widespread use of “Shadow AI” introduces serious vulnerabilities: 23% of AI applications are classified as critical risk, and another 50% are high risk. In other words, nearly three out of four AI tools being used by employees today pose major security concerns.

To help organizations address these emerging threats, Cyberhaven’s Data Defense Forum will offer practical guidance on securing sensitive data, managing insider risk, and navigating AI-related challenges.
