Enphase Energy, Inc., a global energy technology leader and top provider of microinverter-based solar and battery systems, announced that its wireless-enabled products now fully comply with the European Union’s Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Article 3.3 cybersecurity requirements.

The directive, which took effect on August 1, 2025, establishes a stronger cybersecurity baseline for connected devices within the EU. Under these rules, energy solutions with wireless functionality must meet enhanced standards aimed at protecting networks, securing personal data, and reducing exposure to cyber risks.

Enphase noted that its approach includes robust security protocols, a structured vulnerability disclosure process, and active incident reporting to safeguard both customer information and the broader energy ecosystem. A recent SolarPower Europe report warned of the potential risks posed by unsecured inverter systems, stressing the need for harmonized cybersecurity measures to ensure grid stability and protect solar households.

Industry partners and installers welcomed Enphase’s achievement:

Jannik Schall, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of 1KOMMA5, said: “Enphase consistently upholds strict security standards across its home energy systems. For us, they’re not only delivering performance but also ensuring digital safeguards that are vital in today’s connected environment.”

Laurens Knapen, CEO of Green Guys B.V. in the Netherlands, commented: “Homeowners don’t usually think about cybersecurity when choosing solar, but it’s critical. With Enphase certified under the new EU rules, we and our customers have greater confidence in system safety.”

Christophe Graciet, Manager and Founder of ATSE Photovoltaique in France, added: “Enphase’s proactive approach to cybersecurity is a key differentiator. Their commitment to data protection and system integrity strengthens trust in the technology we provide to homeowners.”

According to Ravi Pervela, Senior Vice President of Cloud, Security and HEMS at Enphase Energy, the company treats cybersecurity as a central responsibility: “We take a transparent and proactive stance, collaborating with industry partners and third-party experts to ensure our technology meets critical requirements. Customers can be assured their energy systems and data are protected at every level.”

With the EU’s cybersecurity standards now in force, Enphase positions itself among the first global solar technology providers to demonstrate compliance, reinforcing its focus on both innovation and digital safety in the renewable energy sector.
